    How to fix UK gambling:

    1) Force the payment operators (Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Skrill, etc) to only allow transactions from UK players to UK casinos who are licensed by UKGC and in good standing

    2) Set default limit of £1000/month for everyone like Germany with KYC and AML being handled by qualified and trusted persons – banks and payment processors – never by players and casinos. That casinos somehow found themselves as gatekeepers for this info shocks me

    3) If someone wants limits over £1000/month they do the KYC, AML, show me your divorce papers dance with the casino. The burden is then on the casino to ensure losses don’t exceed what the customer can afford. If that happens, the casino pays back the customer

    4) Remove all the nanny-restrictions like removal of autoplay, removing quickspin and turbospins. Bonus buys available for those who complete KYC and AML. Gambling is supposed to be fun and UKGC is making gambling less fun for UK citizens. They are harming, not protecting

    5) If people want to get around these restrictions with crypto let them. Only a handful of cryptos are truly anonymous, bitcoin, ethereum and DOGE are not among them. Any casino accepting cryptos for the purposes of circumventing UK laws would be subject to seizure or attack

6-10) Open a UK casino whose shareholders are every citizen in the UK (not the government). Make the games and RTP the fairest they can possibly be. Never refuse a withdrawal if a deposit has been accepted. Always care about the player. Smash every other casino in the UK and the world, leaving the ordinary UK citizen as the bookie and the casino so we no longer have to rely on UKGC or the cartel that controls almost every casino in Europe

Does anybody remember the video talking about Lord Ping and some other casinos, where they provide proof that Lord Ping doesn’t allow affiliates to deposit real money at their casinos?

I see SpinItIn today using fake money at Lord Ping. I posted a comment on his YouTube and he deleted it! Thankfully I just copy/pasted a reply to every other comment in his video, which he couldn’t delete 🙂

Does anyone disagree with me reporting SpinItIn to YouTube for fraud? Cause that’s what I did and encourage you to do as well if you think the same. Anybody who’s fake but encourages people to sign up using their links and play with real money so that they get paid, deserves a boot in the root. The casino deserves both feet

These are not illegal requests. In fact, online casinos these days have an obligation to know their customer and identify vulnerability earlier than ever, as instructed by the UKGC.

They cannot use this to hold withdrawals, however. That is a clear breach 99% of the time.

You are right in that these aren’t illegal requests depending on what CDD criteria the casino is using. They can have a €2000 CDD threshold as I said above but there are so many things the casino can flag you for. It’s not a regulation by UKGC it’s more of a holistic approach to identifying “problem gamblers” which the casinos may use at their discretion but ……… If you play for longer than 1 hour and if it’s in the T&C, a casino can ask you for the whole shabang of KYC, SOF, SOW, AML

    https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/statistics-and-research/publication/customer-interaction-additional-formal-guidance-for-remote-operators-during

What a joke tho if you play for 1 hour you are labelled a problem gambler. I’d guess we’re all problem gamblers then, fucking nonsense

    * Summary – if you deposit €2K or play for longer than 1 hour sessions, a casino can ask you to jump through many hoops

** Still weird AF though I play on a bunch of casinos for longish sessions on BTG games and the only casinos that ask for anything are the ones I made withdrawals from. That ain’t no coincidence.

The Soccermillion project cost me personally around £400,000 before i stopped doing it because of covid, it was money i could afford and i helped an unbelievable amount of non league teams out with it, i think the jealousy stems from the fact that i could actually give something like that a go and not be afraid if it didn’t work. I don’t really need to explain any more than that to anyone do i.

I’ve been watching you for years since you were on low stakes, I enjoy watching your videos as much as anyone else. Question though – if you have so much money why the fuck are you gambling, like what is it you hope to achieve? You can’t win a significant amount unless you spike a Mega Moolah jackpot or something. I guess that explains the £80 spins on MrVegas and dropping £50K in 20 mins, just meaningless

@biohazard – there are legal thresholds for asking for this information. I gave the link to UKGC. If you haven’t deposited €2000 then casinos shouldn’t ask you for SOW, as per regulations from UKGC

The AML thing is even more egregious as the threshold is £8800. Again, links given to the relevant laws

Our data is precious and it is illegal to request data from someone without justification. Do Tesco or your energy supplier ask you to provide SOW? No they don’t because you never tried to withdraw, but energy casino …..

Weirdly, OR NOT, the casinos who have asked me for SOW are the same casinos I have withdrawn from. Never did I meet any of the SOW, CDD or AML thresholds, not even close

You think it’s cool @biohazard for the casinos to use these laws as an illegal weapon against players? Because that is what they do. I deposit, nobody bats an eyelid. I withdraw and suddenly I need SOW. I don’t withdraw, nobody asks for SOW. That’s specifically the casinos promoted on this website but obviously we know how much of a shower of shite these casinos can be, and their staff. Their staff are paid bonuses according to how much they steal from players. As if such a thing is even close to being legal or ethical

    Now that is some bullshit

    1) Craig is so aghast he takes a picture while his daughter is watching Bandit, or else he staged that photo.

    2) If Craig is so worried about exposing his daughter to gambling, what precisely is his problem? Does Craig think people shouldn’t gamble or that gambling is dangerous? Then why does he run a gambling channel and try to get people to sign up to casinos?

*Children under the age of 2 should have zero screen time on phones or TV

*Children under 4 should have a maximum of 1 hour per day and must not be allowed to passively watch TV, YouTube or Phones without parental supervision

I think if following guidelines from the WHO and NHS, there are aspects of Craig’s parenting which could be improved. People get upset when questioning parenting which is exactly why Craig should have kept his mouth shut as he is being hypocritical

    OK @xbobmad thank you

Not sure I agree with Craig’s assessment but I can see where he is coming from. It’s odd Bandit’s videos aren’t age-restricted. When I use a browser I am not verified on I can watch Bandit’s channel but I can’t view other channels like Craig or Jimbo without first verifying my age

Will kids be interested in Bandit? I very much doubt it. His channel and banter are not orientated towards children at all, unlike say Chipmonkz with the Pokemon cards on his gambling stream and with similar channels for Pokemon and video games. Or like Jimbo or Craig who also post videogames and other non-gambling gaming (maybe on twitch and not YouTube IDK)

Having said that I do believe Bandit should age-gate and I’m not sure why YouTube doesn’t automatically do this for content listed as 18 + Gamble Aware. I guess it’s less of a transgression for Bandit as he doesn’t run kids-content channels nor could any of his content or posts be classified as kid-friendly. Maybe a solution is to age-gate the videos then it’s irrelevant what category or classification they get

To my shock I enjoyed the Russell Brand video. He understands most of it I just thought I would add my 2 cents (and 10 paragraphs)

There are 3 parts to the unholy trinity of gambling:

    1) Gambling is an emotion, some purple or black to go along with the grey

Win or lose you get the rollercoaster as entertainment. If you read the fine print the gaming experience is what you are paying for and gambling is a part of the entertainment industry. Many sports wouldn’t run or be on TV if it wasn’t for gambling companies. The richest clubs have made the most from gambling and have done since the year 2000. As far back as 2004, Spurs were using Mansion Online Casino as their title sponsor

    2) Societal pressure and normalisation

As Russell says, rich people in the gaming industry throw money at lobbyists and politicians, just as the tobacco companies used to do. Sports betting has never been my thing – didn’t have time with the poker and casino – but it’s very normal for people to bet on sports. I’ve had friends who didn’t do gambling (poker/casino) before smartphones. Now they place sports bets all day long while at work. Prior to covid you would meet people at bars/restaurants/cafes and regularly they are using their phones to check bets, often on the most random shit. When you can’t turn on the TV, use your phone or walk on public streets without the neurological conditioning of gambling adverts, it is normal to gamble. People gambled before the year 2000 but never has it been normal for this wide a demographic to gamble this often.

“It matters more when there’s money on it” – Bet365, the UK’s most profitable online betting firm

I know at least a dozen people who I wouldn’t previously classify as gamblers, who became bankrupt, divorced, suicide, because of gambling on their phones. It’s not normal to develop addictions as an adult. It’s not often you hear about a 40 year old waking up and deciding to become a drug addict. Usually the doctor has prescribed them opium first. It’s the same with a 40 year old gambling addict, they never had a problem until they were encouraged or forced to participate

    3) The internal narrative

People will rationalise things to justify their poor behaviour. I can speak as someone who was a professional gambler, meaning I was an addict who wasn’t a problem gambler. Under the clinical guidelines you can’t have a problem if you are a winner or your activities don’t impact the other important parts of your life. Doing anything for long periods of time has an impact but it’s medically deemed positive or negative by only one factor – financial success. If you are rich then a doctor will give you a clean bill of health. As a winner of some nice coin over 20 years I used to allow myself to believe it was not problematic to play poker for 50 hours a week. It’s not problematic until you try to move on and discover that part of you is still stuck in your previous narrative. The same thing applies to sports betting but as casino gamblers or poker players, most people believe if they just stay patient or if they play long enough, they will land that big score or make money. The stats say otherwise with only 10% of poker players breaking even and only 1 in 100 making respectable sums of money relative to a 9-5 job

The internal narrative is almost spiritual as Russell suggested, and most people lie to themselves about their gambling. I’m fully aware of my gambling which is why I played poker – it kept me away from other forms of gambling. Poker is the same as a slot machine just a lot slower with more extreme highs and lows. You get numb to it. After winning 1 tournament with like 100 people you feel great. After winning thousands of tournaments with bigger fields and for more money, you just don’t give a fuck anymore. Playing is as normal to me as packing shelves in a supermarket

For other people they tell themselves they aren’t doing anything wrong or that they aren’t addicted, refusing to acknowledge the fact that if you repeat this behaviour it will develop into a dependency. It takes weeks or months to get addicted to smoking (perhaps 6-8 weeks is the best estimate for developing a habit generally). Yes you hear the stories about one exposure and addicted but that’s utter bullshit as we can prove you have to do something at least 3 times before your brain fully grasps the information. You have to smoke a few times when you did not enjoy it to reach the stage which you did enjoy it. Obviously nobody should ever start smoking cigarettes it’s just a very dumb and gay thing to do (speaking as a smoker). If you keep doing it you will get addicted, 99.99%. If you follow adverts and introductory promos from gambling companies, by the time you have got through several welcome bonuses you will have developed a taste. Make it a few dozen or 100 different welcome bonuses, you have developed a habit or an addiction. There is a reason why gambling companies splinter into dozens of different casinos (e.g. Aspire Global, Progress Play, Jumpman, L&L, 888, White Hat, etc). They are one single brand but if they have more casinos they can have more new signups to entice with welcome bonuses. When you consider what is known about gambling behaviour it’s truly shocking how cynical the main players are

    So in summary:

    * Emotional Content
    * Societal pressure/normalisation
    * Internal narrative

When you combine all 3 and repeat you produce an addict, regardless of the underlying traits of the person

I am getting extremely frustrated by casino staff giving out erroneous information. Let’s clear this up once and for all – nobody can call me a liar because I am using official guidance from the UKGC:

    https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/licensees-and-businesses/lccp/condition/17-1-1-customer-identity-verification

    1) Licensees must obtain and verify information in order to establish the identity of a customer <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>before that customer is permitted to gamble</span>. Information must include, <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>but is not restricted to</span>, the customer’s name, address and date of birth

    2) <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>A request made by a customer to withdraw funds from their account must not result in a requirement for additional information to be supplied as a condition of withdrawal if the licensee could have reasonably requested that information earlier</span>. This requirement does not prevent a licensee from seeking information on the customer which they must obtain at that time due to any other legal obligation. (e.g. AML for £8800 deposits)

3)<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”> Before permitting a customer to deposit funds</span>, licensees should inform customers what types of identity documents or other information the licensee may need the customer to provide, the circumstances in which such information might be required, and the form and manner in which such information should be provided.

    4) Licensees must take reasonable steps to ensure that the information they hold on a customer’s identity remains accurate.

    https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/public-and-players/guide/age-and-id-verification

<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>All online gambling businesses must ask you to prove your age and identity before you gamble.</span> Our rules say that a gambling businsesses can’t ask you to prove your age and identity as a condition of withdrawing your money if they could have asked you at an earlier point. However, there may be occasions where a gambling business can only ask you for information at that time in order to fulfil legal obligations. (e.g. AML)

If a gambling business needs more information before you can withdraw your funds, for example, for anti-money laundering checks, then they should ask promptly and not only when you want to withdraw your funds.

<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Where a gambling business delays a request to withdraw funds due to insufficient ID, they may be in breach of Licence Condition 17 – Customer identity verification and may be subject to regulatory action.</span>

    ——————————-

The OP in this thread has been defrauded. Clearly the casino is NOT ALLOWED to ask for ID verification as the condition for a withdrawal when they could have asked for that info earlier – i.e. when depositing – which is a legal requirement for casinos. They must verify you to the same level when depositing as when withdrawing – asking for info only at withdrawal stage is a breach of Licence Condition 17

This should be common sense when comparing to how a bank operates under KYC – they must know who you are BEFORE you open an account, not after you try to use the ATM.

The casinos are allowing people, like me and OP, to open accounts, then when we try to use the ATM they are telling us they can’t service our request. This is fraud and is illegal in the United Kingdom. Any arguments to the contrary made by casino staff will be looked upon by me in the harshest possible terms. If xbob and biohazard work for the gaming industry, I would advise those gentlemen to think extremely carefully before posting anymore deceptive and illegal advice to players. I will call you up on it and report you to your employer and UKGC. You have been warned. We follow the laws of the United Kingdom, not the casinos.

@seedy – I can see what happened in hindsight. This guy Xbob is trying to get a reaction from people to get their complaints shut down or redirect attention

I was stupid for biting back yesterday but please observe what he is doing. He is trolling people when they are already stressed, on purpose

We need to band together and stop casinos stealing from us. It’s difficult enough to bloody win without your winnings being seized by casinos for reasons which do not follow the specifications of UK law. Like I said above, how many people here have gone through AML due to illegal requests, giving their data to casinos which subsequently get hacked?

It’s a really serious situation and if you can’t talk about it on gambling forums, where can you talk about it?

We are supposed to stick together, as players, not have one of us join the casino to gang up on regular players. How many times has Bandit been frustrated out his mind by casino regulations? Did he not leave every other casino and only use videoslots due to SOW, KYC, AML, etc? And Bandit was due to legally provide this info due to deposits > £10,000 (now £8800). What about the rest of us who don’t meet these thresholds but are asked to jump through the same hoops anyway? We need this to stop or to close down the casinos who make illegal data requests
