I work in gambling. UKGC wont restrict streaming on Twitch or Youtube. For three reasons.

1 – It can be restricted by the sites for over 18s. Just like porn. Or… vaping.They have performed the regulated task of making it hidden from public consumption. Same as alcohol and cigarettes. Its just online so easier to get around.

2 – The sites have no legal obligation to do fuck all. UKGC can control the act of gambling. They can control the age of gambling. They cannot control who watches gambling. Thats not even close to feasible. Anyone can walk into a casino with ID over 18. Anyone can in Vegas. BUT – once you start betting or gambling those stakes are controlled by the regulators. NGC, UKGC, MGA, whoever. They impose themselves on your actions, not your eyes.

3 – They can ban TV advertising before 9pm (I am a fan of this, I hate kids getting into gambling) as it affects children. Twitch and youtube with the 18+ get around this.

 

So while i admire your ideas, and your points are sometimes accurate, the end result here is a made up idea.

 

What will actually happen is UKGC will continue to impose large fines on casinos for DPA/GDPR/AML breaches. They will then start to impose more fines for advertising (Which is starting now). This makes them their money. Some also goes to charity, so thats cool. While this happens smaller casinos and licences will pull out of the UK due to increasing costs and regulations, restrictions on bonuses and platforms, and the VAT costs (huge). This will leave a monopoly by GVC, Paddy/betfair/stars/fanduel/skybet/skyvegas/whaetver else PPBF owns, and sites of a size of casumo. Shit videoslots are considering pulling out of the UK.

2. If the sites weren’t obliged to do fk all, then why are they constantly finding excuses to take videos down or delete streamers accounts?

3. The UKGC can do what they want… when the Government tells them they can do it. If they can ban TV advertising before 9pm then they will most definitely block gambling altogether on youtube within the UK. It’s common sense. There might be ways around it like VPN’s and so on… but i assure you that in under 2 years a lot of people will be eating their words.

ok. I am entitled to my opinion. I think you will find i have more of a chance of proving myself to be correct than you do yourself. Ohhh, i see the problem now. You are living in the present, which means you can’t be wrong. They look at all the stats, recent events, facts and examine plenty of avenues to come to a decision. The bookmakers don’t employ people to make up odds based on the fact they are living in the present. Ill give you some actual facts.

1 – Casino Streamers did not get bonus buys banned. The responsible gambling commission did. And I agree with it. This has 0 to do with streamers.

2 – The UKGC will not ban streamers. They are not performing a harmful act. They may well impose an advertising or link ban in future, thats 100% possible. But they wont ban streaming.

3 – Youtube takes videos down due to copyright complaints, music, or people either trying to claim it was their content, or, as in bandits case, people reporting the video. youtube does not have teams of people sat around performing checks, its automated. Youtube is just one big Cloud system. (Fact, i know someone working with youtube)

4 – Bookmakers risk small to gain big. You claim you know how it works but it doesnt. Now here you might actually learn something. Lets say bet365 takes a 1million bet on United to beat Chelsea including extra time at Evs. Chelsea to do the same are 5/6. What bookmakers do is they go and lay off 900k of this bet on other sites using a variety of ways. This ensures that no matter what the result they dont lose. If it is smaller stakes they are happy to take the risk. And if its a multi-option event (horse race, golf) they will only lay golfers on exchanges or horses if one has way too much riding on it. This is how they win. They dont risk it all on people getting odds. There are systems, AI, weird algorhythms working shit out that mere mortals (including me) dont understand so cant explain. But when it spits out the odds you know there is ALWAYS a 9% house edge. So they always win. On average. 9% of each bet. Think of all bets ever made and take 9% of it. Thats a lot.

5 – You clearly dont work in gaming or you would know this. So I would love to know your fact origins please?

6 – Source of wealth. You know why its harder now? As people are self employed. Bandit gambles for a living. So hard to prove thats sustainable. As for why now? REsponsible gambling again. Source of wealth is a vital aspect of not just the KYC check, but also AML (anti money laundering). This has to be done, and its very rightly, done before any cashout.
