[Haz40 WANTED $1,166 Outlaw]

As some of you may have seen it is not looking like the draw will be made today as many people have tried to cheat entering hundreds of times. Last year a small project was set up to raise money for injured pets who’s owners could not afford their vet bill. £3000 was raised which went to this amazing cause. How much of a 6k giveaway would end up straight back in the casinos hands. I wouldn’t think nothing less if the draw was cancelled because of these fuckwits and the amount of time seedy will have to spend going through all the entries. Free money turns people into vultures. Give it to charity Steve. The true followers will always back you without any incentive for free money and will think nothing less of you if there is no money involved now.

Wowzers, didn’t realise there were people who’d put in multiple entries. Disgraceful if true, it’s just spitting on Steve doing something nice in the most selfish, anti-Christmas way possible. I agree, there’s no end of charities who could use the money for something good.

I think what I hate the most is that it makes me cynical and see the worst in people. And I’m doing okay now but I’ve had times even in the last year or two where I’ve been down on my luck in various ways, indeed before Gamstop there were times I haven’t helped myself with the gambling as a poor way of escapism from other problems, but the chancers and the begging and the stuff like this with the draw entries, it just means every time now someone who might be genuine posts a story about how they’re struggling, I instantly think “yeah bullshit”, even though I’ve been there myself. I don’t like that it erodes my compassion.

I think most of us here are good judges of character and the contributions you have made to this forum could never be questioned. The one off post sob stories are the hinters and are easy to spot. I have read 100’s of posts venting about losing sessions and would always encourage people to post the bad as well as the good but some posts just blatantly stand out.

Excellent idea Haz. Cash for kids or a homeless shelter would be more than grateful for any donations this time of year. If I had the money to, I would have opened up a kitchen for them all this year. Breaks my heart seeing the genuinely homeless people out on the streets. Same with kids in orphanages or in care. I’d love to adopt the lot of them.

 

As for posting about losses, I think it’s really important for people to do this. 99% of gamblers know how it feels after a bad session. Never mind if you’ve just blown your whole bank funds for the month. Speaking out can prevent self harm,  and suicide.. and if that means telling a load of strangers on the internet how pissed off you are with your self and what you’re supposed to have spent the money on, then so be it. I would much rather see begging threads on BIAM than a news paper article about someone killing themselves because of gambling/gambling related debt. We help if we can. We dont if we cant. I try to help with way of words.. shit but it helps sometimes.

Should The Bandit decide to make a donation to any charities instead of the free draw, may I suggest Cats Protection (cats.org.uk) as a charity very dear to my heart. Regardless, if anyone here can afford to sign up and donate even £3 a month to them, they are in urgent need of more sponsors particularly at this time of year.
