I can see both sides. I’ve been a long time viewer and also used Bandits links to sub to various casinos. The few did spoil a cracking draw but on the flip side I’m sure this has generated new players to sign up and gamble via his links..

If this was Nickslots for example then people would lose their heads.

At the end of the day the Charities win which is never a bad thing.

I would have binned off anyone that registered after the video release date personally, but fully understand the reasons behind the cancellation.  Charities always need the money so good on you pal!

What a sad world we now live in,

where you’re offered free entry to a competition that has now been cancelled and you have to kick off like you’ve actually lost something! Lol.

seriously what is wrong with you people its actually laughable you feel cheated because you signed upto a website and all the effort you’ve put in subscribing (half a second to click?) and watching videos lmao. Hopefully you can all clear off now and the rest of us can just casually enjoy watching his vids and posting on here as and when 🙂

Bravo bandit I’ve just signed up to say I totally agree with what you’ve done. If the little shits cant play by the rules why should they get the money and on the plus side at least the charity’s will spend it wisely if anyone else won it they would probably just gamble it and lose

    Hey Steven, season’s greetings.

Shame the giveaway went tips up.

You could of just made it for those already registered which would be easy for your web guy to implement.

Next time think it through a bit more ?

Disappointed but I’m not going anywhere.

Good luck and all the best for the new year..

Dont worry about it Mr Bandit…you did what you thought was best…

You keep repeating the word ‘Free’. Do you want to start charging for the YouTube videos? I don’t get it. I’m not going to moan about the draw being cancelled, but the whole idea of all these draws is to lure people to sign up through his links and gamble away their money which leads to affiliate commission.

    Thanks.

I agree the whole point of making videos and having draws is to get as many people as possible to sign up to casinos and make money from it, let’s not pretend it’s not

Now I’m not having a go at all, I agree the money is better off going to charity.

This is a purely a business/legal question for those in the know (in a lawyer, but nothing in this type of area).

Lets say I set up a site and said free £1m giveaway all you have to to do is join my site/group/subscribe or whatever. I now have several hundred thousand followers and attempt to monetise my channel – I.e going to advertisers to show them my huge following which I effectively created overnight but nonetheless is a real following of genuine members. I get an advertising deal and then cancel the draw to those that entered.

is there any regulation here ?

again, this is not a dig at what has happened here as I completely agree with the outcome, but it raises the above genuine question.

No, because you didn’t have to pay anything or buy anything to enter. You can’t sue someone for the loss of zero pence. Free draws are also not subject to any statutory regulation.

    @seedy ‘Have a nice day’!

I know what you’re saying. You know what you’re saying. And the person involved knows what your saying, but all in the most polite of manners. With the plus point of not having to get in trouble for saying it.

Personally, I couldn’t care less that I signed up and entered thinking I had a chance of winning when I really didn’t.  The chances in my mind were 13,000 to 1, which is like one of those pointless horse races where the favorite is so strong you have to remortgage your house to make a tenner.  But then this was free entry, so why not?

That being said though, did I expect 13,000 legitimate entries? Hell yeah!  The latest video has 20K views already.  There are two things I’m a little bothered about.

First, as an IT professional who has years of experience designing and implementing mechanisms to ensure to the integrity and security of very sensitive financial services infrastructure, and indeed exploiting weaknesses and vulnerabilities, I’m loathed to witness what can only be considered a failure to apply technology correctly to ensure the integrity of an application.  Yeah, I really did just say that and anyone shocked reading that should appreciate their shock is one of the reasons they don’t work in this field and I do.  Relying on the honesty and trustworthiness of people entering an internet competition is like leaving your house open to the public so they can warm up during winter and asking them nicely not to take your shit.  You just wouldn’t do it.

Second, as somewhat of a liberal person, it’s not great to see moderators blocking people for taking issue with the competition being cancelled.  You might disagree with their position but these are people who – all being said and done – actually watch your videos.  And as disagreeable as they may be, you should still care about their views, and the “it says more about you” stance says just as much about you.  Think of your followers as the land of the ancient Hawaiians and Polynesians who’s effigies of God (Tikis) are all over your site.  Look after the land and it will bear fruit.
