used to be some great machines used to love one call money magic £35 jack loved the £5 jacks to hocus pocus crossfire to many to mention really pity now day there all basically clones of deal or no deal … which were so good at the start but well played out at this stage only so many times you can have 1p in your box after over £100 pound in can be entertaining lol the simple days where you would listen for the pound to drop and you knew ya were on to a winner lol …. they still drop today but it means fuck all

Haha yer loads classics. I was mainly starting in the cash lab, pac man, money monster days. Yer I only play 100s where can get sumat decent in box where phones actually worth aving. No mate, it smashed me. Screwed them right down across the site now it seems, it was a 70%er! I had more luck on the Lucky Streak, made £300 on that during the week and found a Mega Pot there that was good for a grand surprisingly, all be it helped by a nice £500 coin! I ventured into Skeg centre where i expected stuff to be smashed, Batman in the spoons was 90 for 400 – you can’t complain there!

Lucky is perfect machine for busy place. Must been in good position for 500 up if u wont av got coin. ? Things do actually get play there so always av a chance of getting everything there early. Don’t av to wait for a week to go back in a pub an see cashpot has gone up a pound haha

It was unchipped on my first visit 3 years back and sat alongside a Perfect and a Dream…. those were the days ha The Mega Pot was in such a position that everything could come into play if one thing took longer than expected lol I actually left it after a few hours play with a decent profit and then a moment of boredom took me back to it and it yielded another chunk with a fairly luck early pot 5 drop, £437, even back towards the end of the good days on that trick it was rare to see one come out at that tbh.

 

I was so utterly disgusted by the Turbo that i almost did the campsite a favour and smashed it in with my stool lol I’d have happily paid the replacement cost and provided a full hopper, just didn’t fancy the stay in the cells much haha

Yer much better machines when not relying on decent box. I never bother wen just get pot 5 only now cos I’d wana see 450+ but someone will just av a go on 400 an wen I did it on 430 last time it went 499 so got smashed haha. I usually like turbos but every so often they will be a nightmare. Just getting single phones an when do get mega it love 6 quid. I just take a 50 but when over a 1er in u can’t really an it can seem to block 100. Can’t even bust cos seem to affect phones as well even when only bust a few dead boards. Too many things now which u shud av won on but end up levels or down.

Not a pub fruity as such but in the arcades the barcrest gold rush where you can go up to the big board. About 12 years ago when I lived at the seaside I won £100 off about a fiver. Still never won anything close to that in land based places.

My faves were the old Barcrests that actually required some thought and skill (the various Vamp it Up, All Fired Up clones with the blue and red trails). I’d often rinse loads of them in the servo’s back in the day. I’m taking the family on holiday at Easter to a caravan park down in Devon, and I know they got a couple of these games in the on-site arcade. I know they’re only a fiver jackpot but the thought of playing them again is actually quite exciting. That’s the sign of a good fruity for you! I’ll never have that feeling with any of this modern day shite.

Betcoms with their force spin through £120 for the chance of a £150 mega streak. Or the 15 million DOND clones. No thanks!

When people say they force pub machines is that true or the same as saying zero section due and is it a max of £200 they take if you don’t take any wins untill megastreak I’ve always wanted to try but don’t want to lose 200 and turn down £20,£50 wins if its not always possible?

It depends on the machine Sarah – all compensated machine can be forced in that they will all eventually give in and give you a jackpot eventually if you collect nothing but for a lot of machines it isn’t feasible to force them because you are talking £2/3/400 for them to do that.

Sadly the days of really fun and playable fruit machines are almost gone. ? Used to love popping in to the local arcade and back in the 90’s we were spoiled for choice. The period between the £3 cash, £6 tokens up until the £25 jackpots were the best. Here are my top ten, that I can remember anyway.

1. Casino Crazy.  2. Hyper Viper. 3. Lasvegas strip. 4. Viva Las Vegas 6.  5. Big Banker.  6. Big Bucks. 7. Miami Dice.  8. Surprise Surprize.  9.  Eastenders.  10.  Indiana Jones.

Probably forgot some classics but although these weren’t always the best for payouts, they were fun to play. Playing a DOND clone has nothing to offer and you can go through £100 in no time. Yes you could lose on the old fruits too but you got value for money.

My first experience with gambling started on the 5p play, £5 jackpot fruities in the arcade. Probably have been better for my life overall if I’d never started down that slippery path but I did have a lot of fun, favourites I remember are Andy Capp (99 nudges was a feature you could land on the board way before getting to the end and obviously guaranteed jackpot), Hyper Viper which was a snakes and ladders jobby, Only Fools and Horses, Excalibur. Later on the £25 jackpot ones when I was 18 I remember there was a Bullseye one, another called The Codfather with a fish and chip shop theme and also a Monty Python one which used to pay me well. The latter you could collect letters on the feature board and if you got enough it would go “I’m invincible!” and then you were guaranteed a (usually repeating) jackpot.
