In theory I don’t disagree with you but equally this a first stop for many people just to have their issues addressed and confirmed and to have a snap shot from other people with similar issues on what action might be next  and what to expect …. I think that’s invaluable….. also most people just want a chat…. and a faceless natter is more attractive to some rather than a face to face …. there is a lot of emotions involved  and talking to somebody face to face is hard as some might feel judged and ashamed or feel somebody is looking down on them …… but of course outside professional help ( when needed ) is always the best….sometimes coming on a forum and being assured that they aren’t the first to fall into this hole by others who have walked in their shoes can be a positive step.. and the members here like winningbird will always point them in the right direction….And yes … coming on here and seeing these vids might stir up those demons ….but sadly like smoking and drinking and over eating and so on there will always be a temptation devil on your shoulder that’s just life …at least on the forum they can reach out …and  there’s always somebody here to say hi ……
