Yeah obviously with the dice example you could potentially win more off the 3 separate tickets, if for example by freak chance they all won.

With slots, I’d say look at it this way: if for example Book of Argyl takes on average 100 spins to land a bonus and 100 spins on average carries 70% RTP, if you load up £60 at £1 a spin you will probably get about 120 spins out of it before you bust and therefore have at least a 50/50 of hitting a feature in the aggregate of those spins. But if you have 3 separate £20 sessions over 3 days, in each session you only get maybe 35 spins before you’re bust so you’re in practice less likely to see a feature land.

Nothing is guaranteed good or bad either way with either strategy; maybe you hit a bonus first spin on your first deposit but the smarter strategy is to do one bigger deposit, simply because you increase your statistical exposure to the random results.

Sorry this is quite difficult to explain; just to be clear, if you have 500 spins on a slot (and its odds are fixed at all times), it doesn’t matter whether you have those spins in one session or ten. In aggregate across the spins, if you would expect to see a bonus within 500 spins, you will probably hit one at some point, even if you have 50 sessions of 10 spins each. If that was your underlying question, yes that’s true.

But the chance of a bonus landing in any individual spin isn’t our only variable when we play slots. We have the combined probability of a bonus landing in a given set of some number of spins, we have our stake, our bankroll, our average RTP per number of spins, the different games we’re playing. Are we upping the stake or changing game when we get a win? etc…

What it comes down to is if you have 50 sessions of 10 spins each, hitting a bonus in one of those sessions probably won’t make enough of a difference to your bankroll to be able to sufficiently sustain your play to hit further wins, because while overall RTP for a game might be as high as 96%, the average RTP it pays in 100 spins might be 50% or less.

Argyl’s statement around the dice is mathematically correct, but the application is different to what ayma is talking about (I believe).

If you deposit £20 on three separate sessions, this is exactly the same as depositing £60 on one single session, assuming all other variables (stakes, RTP etc.) remain the same. There is no advantage, nor disadvantage.

Exactly my point Bio, if betting at a consistent same stake, it really makes no difference if its a £20 or £60 deposit. I confess that Argyls dice point impressed me with the maths but I realised I just thought about the same thing in a different way i.e the more spins you do, the closer to RTP you get which decreases your longterm odds.
