When I had accounts with every bookmaker in the land Ladbrokes call centre were the worst. I rang up to get in play odds in a Newcastle game in Europe years ago. They were playing awful and game was nil nil. The woman offered me the draw at 114 to 1. I knew it was meant to be 11 to 4 so I put 40 quid on it. Newcastle scored about 65 min. Their opponents can’t remember name (some unknown European team) missed an open call in the dying seconds. I asked the following day what would of happened as the bet never came in. The guy said oh you’d of been paid out it’s an automated system and if won money would of gone back to your bank at midnight. Gutted to say the least. Has anyone been paid out incorrectly in your favour and you’ve just thought nice one happy days ?

I was about 2k down on an online casino (admiral i think) and i’d never made with withdrawal before, i went to withdraw £50 and during the verification they pointed out my name was spelled incorrectly on sign up (some auto fill box mess up i think with chrome) so couldn’t verify my id, a few back and forth with the emails saying i wanted either my £50 or all my deposits back or i’ll go to the gambling commission / ombudsmen

An hour later i received about 30/40 paypal notifications of refunds from my deposits ranging from £20 – £100 which was all my deposits back – not sure why breaking even felt like a massive win 😀

I like this post, good question, I went into ladbrokes before and went to one of their machines that you can do inplay bets on and there was £80 in there, looked left, looked right… no. One was around so I put my tenner in and done my bet and collected the £80 went to a different ladbrokes (just in case) and cashed it there, happy days!!

I heard a story of the old days when someone turned the clock back in the bookies so they could bet on the dog races 1st thing in the morning ? It was when the bookies had that guy in the box writing up all the results, before the T. V.s came out…. I was too young to place a bet… ?

I wonder if The Bandit heard this.. When the fotb came out the 1st week or 2, you could switch them off from the mains if your bet was losing, complain to the staff & either get money returned or a payout for some profit….

Or anyone else can comfirm this worked… ?

Put £10 on Frank lampard to score first and last goal years ago with hills on phone account. Watch the game in anticipation to be disappointed in yet another losing bet or so I thought. When I played my next bet later that day the bloke said bet placed from your internal funds. Been confused ? I asked what bets had won. I found out my bet had gone on Ricky Lambert and not lampard to score first and last. I think it was Bristol rovers he played for at the time and they won 1 0 he scored making both bets winning bets. Apparently they would enter first 3 letters in the system LAM and it came up with Lambert. Even when they repeated the bet back over the phone I didn’t even notice.

you could play blackjack in one bookies, before you hit or stood on your hand you could not play a “bad hand” turn the machine off an on and your bet would still be in the balance.(I found this out during a power cut in the town I was playing, some must have made quite a bit out of doing it)

On the old cash quest terminals you could crash the machine and get a ticket print out on losing spins, never an exact science getting the timing right, only could be done a couple of times before it looked suspicious.(found this out whilst hitting all the buttons at once and tapping the screen during a losing run).

All these type of tricks pretty much died when the counter management units started being used.

currently got a dispute with ibas against paddy power put 9 pound odd on a bet for a player to score anytime total returns was 100+ they paid me out because the guy had already scored apparently yet the following day put my account into -120 pound i think it was now still waiting on the outcome of this but have paddy power committed any offenses because i always thought that if a bookie pays out then thats it regardless of its mistake like in the terms of once you give you cant take back? now they happily let me spend all my winnings of that bet before then re claiming it all back even tho i lost it all anyway

 

been with ibas now since November so hopefully get this outcome soon let you guys no on this if it was lucky or unlucky would like to hear your advice on this if someone knows the laws of gambling related to my incident
