I just got this warning pop-up when I logged in, it’s the only site I’ve opened today where it’s appeared… is this just something my end or has someone decided to punish the lack of a free giveaway by trying to hack the site and rob some passwords?

Most likely you’re using the same email address and password for this site as another one which has had a data breach. I can see why it’s confusing, but the warning from Chrome doesn’t specifically mean this site has had a breach, it just means your username and password combo are known to have been breached somewhere.
