Evening all

Today is a momentous day for myself….it is a year to the date since I last gambled!

After more than 20 years of horses, accas, fobts and my biggest nemesis online slots i finally decided I needed 2 sort my shit out!

With over 25k of gambling debts through loans and credit cards and all my income being taken up servicing this i could feel the noose tightening!

Thanks to the Bandit giving out gamcare codes and the introduction of gamstop I really believe they saved my house and marriage!

I still owe just over 20k but I feel I’m getting somewhere, I’ve tried 2 refinance the debt to lower the outgoings but my credit rating is still shot!

Giving up was not as hard as I thought, at first the temptation was huge, trying to find new casinos that would allow me to deposit but gamstop is so good that I soon realised it was pointless!

Now I don’t have any urges to deposit and slot away but I’m still glad I signed up for 5 years, by that time I should be in a much better place financially!

I’ve been pretty hard on myself over the years regarding my gambling but today is a day I can be proud of myself!

Ps I still watch and love every video but stupidly I thought I’d leave part 2 of Sundays video until later…..what a dick lol!

I like watching gambling videos but never been a fan of free play, I could imagine getting a big win on free play would tilt me into depositing!

That’s fantastic, well done! Really nice to hear a positive story 🙂 I have to say from my own experience the first few weeks are very, very difficult, the itch to gamble is everywhere and seems overwhelming. But it’s also amazing how quickly that urge fades after even a month of not doing it. Finances repair in time and our relationships with others are more valuable than any win.

U r so right argyl the first month or so I must have tried over 50 new casinos desperately trying to get my fix!

I’m so glad I didn’t go back to the old fobt days but I realised a long time ago that putting £1000 in to win £500 is crazy……unfortunately it took me far to long to realise!
