Firstly, yes I have sorted all the big wins in the new site. Improved popups, gallery etc.
There has been a huge increase in mobile screenshots which the system was never designed for so it has had to be reworked in part to accommodate those better. As you can imagine, ripping all of that out and re-implementing has been a bit of a job.

Regarding the forum issue, and after what seems like days, I have found the issue!
TLDR; It should now be fixed!

If you are not technical or just don’t care what the problem was look away now! 🙂

WordPress in their wisdom decided to introduce a “sort” function into the core wp-query class when multiple post types are present.
“Not a problem”, I hear you say, “nothing wrong with sorting the post type array?” Well, I can only think of one reason for them introducing this and it may be to do with optimising queries at the database level by having the post types sorted…;
Unfortunately they did no consider the slightly maverick coding in the bbpress plugin codebase which doesn’t only check the post types, it does a strict check of the post type order!? Why?… nobody knows!

Below is bbpress’ delightful code check that seems to require them to be in a specific order:

// Bail if not a topic and reply query
if ( array( bbp_get_topic_post_type(), bbp_get_reply_post_type() ) !== $query->get( 'post_type' ) ) {
    return $where;
}

Simple fix, right? Well.. sort of. As I cannot alter the WordPress code or the BBpress code I had to add a new filter to intercept the query before this function to switch the post type order back! Dirty!

Don’t get me wrong, BBpress is great but ooo (shakes fist)

I am working to fix the image upload issue.

I had to move the site to another server, no easy task I can tell you!
There might be a few niggles here and there just let me or Seedy know if you spot anything else.

Glad people think that parts of this site are worth copying, suggests I did a reasonable job of designing it.  Certainly the way we display the prizedraws seems to have caught on.

It’s all good, Jimbo and Craig are good lads, although I do think they need to get a room 😉

The forum gets tens of thousands of views every day, which is incredible to me.
Statistically, It is now more popular than it has ever been, seeing twice as many hits per day as it did back in December.

Some 2,500 topics have been replied to nearly 30,000 times!

Like any forum, I imagine many people here are lurkers and just enjoy reading the forums. I know I do most of the time.
Perhaps someone should set up a poll and see just how many people read but never comment. I’m sure these “lurkers” can stretch to click the vote button? 😉

Similarly, look how many people watch Bandit’s videos, some have over 100k views, but comments are a just a tiny fraction of that.

So don’t feel down, all those regulars; people are watching, reading and absolutely laughing along.
This is a great community and whilst it has its ups and downs, that’s life and that’s gambling.

NOTE : To all the lurkers, don’t be worried about joining in. You can say anything about anything. Just Basics will testify to that!
I will try and contribute a bit more myself, but I am busy building the site, not using it!! lol

As it took me 9 months to build the site, it feels like a lot longer than a year but all the hard work has been worth it.
Great to see so many people using the site and enjoying the forum especially.

I am still working hard on new features, so keep your eyes peeled for those in the coming months!

I think any video where the streamer has a particularly good session and all the slots are paying.
Not really about the big wins for me, just looks like fun.
After all, we play slots for entertainment (or should do) so it is just a bit shit when they do not bonus/pay.

On the flip side if streamers have a bad time it encourages me to stay away from the slots! Which is much better for my wallet. 🙂
