I actually won £30 on a £5 jackpot bandit in the chippy once and put it towards a game boy colour and Pokémon.
I did something similar as a kid to get Pokemon Blue..went on holiday to Wales with a mate and his folks and we was in the pub one night and they was having a bingo night…my mates parents paid for some Bingo tickets and we got bored after about 10 seconds and went off for a bit….we came back later on and I grabbed a ticket on the table that I thought was mine and 2 numbers later and I’ve only gone and won the top prize £150 (joint winner with another guy) so £75 which I used to get a second hand gameboy and Pokemon Blue.
About a week later I was outside my mates playing it and his mother came out and said “Do you know that bingo ticket wasn’t yours” I looked up from my gameboy and was like “oh….really?…..just caught a Snorlax there”
That fucking Snorlax that blocked the path! It’s a bastard. I killed it so many times trying to catch it haha.
