Hello, has anyone ever been asked to verify themselves by taking a selfie holding up today’s date and their ID?

Thankfully not, but I think I may run out of hands if they asked me too!

I’ve been asked for selfie with photographic ID, but never with date.., photo ID should be verification enough as long as it’s in date.. I mean cmon, what they up to? And who’s asking for this?

This is common practice to see you match the photo on the document.
This could be procedure for all players, an extra measure as their risk and fraud team think something is off with the ID, or all documents are ran through software that might have flagged it as needing extra verification. Your account and/or payment details might match with another account on their system, or be similar to a GAMSTOP registered player they want to eliminate.

If you provide it, and haven’t provided any misleading details or are self excluded anywhere, or have used another persons payment method on your account, you’ll be fine and you should pass verification.
