They can’t keep both mate, you will either get the winnings or the deposits back surely but it has to be asked…. why the fuck did you call them?! I would have said nothing and then seen if the money came, kind of expecting that they would discover the truth and refund me but with the tiny chance that they might not 🙁
25th November 2018 at 9:05 pm #25514Hey… I called them because I my account locked. I couldn’t log on in the morning.
I was fuming, I complained and said that I wanted to receive my deposits back and they flat out refused saying that because I had used a different address and different card that’s why my account wasn’t flagged to them initially…. (that’s coz I do have a different card and address now, isn’t that fairly normal for some people)
Basically said it was my responsibility blah blah blah, was so mad I didn’t even listen to half of it.
It’s ridiculous that they can have such power over us like that.
I wasn’t gonna mention it anywhere but I think ultimately as shit as it is, it may have just stopped me gambling all together as now I’m scared to because god knows where I’ve self excluded up from in the past.

Spew – that kind of says they twigged then. You know what the SHITE thing is, if you had just left it….down….. were they going to lock it and return your money? Probably fucking not.
Reminds me of Blackpool when my roulette bet hit 34 for what should have been £6,600 and they fucked me off by saying sorry, max bet £1k and gave me £4,200 back instead – if it lost was she handing me back £1,200? Was she fuck!
Hang on so are you saying that they aren’t giving you the deposits back either? That’s horse shit – you either get the winnings or you get the money back. If you had have lost the money and then moaned at them to give it back because you were excluded then yes, i agree with them that you knew what you were doing but the fact is, you won shit loads – if they are keeping the money then you get back the deposits, simple as.
25th November 2018 at 10:05 pm #25538I concur, they don’t have the moral right to keep your winnings, never mind what you deposited. The fact that the self exclusion system didn’t work is their fault, not yours. However, by law, they have to give you at least what you deposited back.
25th November 2018 at 10:28 pm #25559The law around the return of deposits upon self-exclusion is a bit of a grey area from what I can find. If you are deemed not old enough to gamble upon withdrawing, per the KYC checks that the Casino undertakes, then they must refund you your deposit(s) in full. However, it is not clear with the UK Gambling Commission whether this is the case or not for self-exclusion. It should be, of course.
“UKGC attitude to this is not as some think. It is not as consumer favouring as some seem to think. They actually consulted on a recommendation that those self excluding should be punished by losing losing deposits and any wins if they self exclude and go on to gamble. The theory is this would be a deterrence.” – CasinoMeister
It absolutely is not right for them to keep both deposits AND withdrawals. So if it was me, I’d raise a case on AskGamblers who will push MrGreen to resolve this for you. I’ve seen plenty of similar stories with other online casinos around self-exclusion where they have managed to get their deposit(s) refunded.
Best of luck!
125th November 2018 at 10:35 pm #25565What a terrible story for you and your wife but I’ve self excluded and remember reading the t &c’s before doing so and it did say if you deposit and win we will keep both …didn’t want to rub it in that was vile cassava group . I’m with Gamstop now which stops you online …but you can still go in bookies they don’t ask questions.. Take care .angie

were praying it comes by the 12th or gonna be rate weird… lot of tour operators are changing dates and offering refunds but I’ve got my fingers crossed.

25th November 2018 at 11:39 pm #2562226th November 2018 at 12:30 am #25648How much did you deposit there in total Lion? Have you submitted a complaint to them?
26th November 2018 at 1:00 am #25652It’s between the 800-1200 mark.
I was too annoyed when I spoke to them at first but am gonna call and complain tomorrow and see what they say.
I dont have much hope tho because a similar story has happened to a friend of mine… he excluded but then just made another account but changed his date of birth or something like that so he could get back on, he had a little win and tried withdrawing and they basically said no to winnings and no to getting deposits back because he agreed to the terms of his exclusion and it’s not their fault he broke them.
26th November 2018 at 1:02 am #25653Just checked bank and it’s exactly £1039.
fingers crossed but I’m not holding my breath
