Hey yoooouuu guuueeeys!

So I’m due to be paid soon and I’m thinking of tossing around £100 in Party Poker and doing a bank roll challenge playing micro stakes cash games and micro stakes MTT’s. I’m not the greatest poker player but I’m not the worst either however I’m thinking of perhaps recording some of it and perhaps adding a bit of commentary. I feel it could be quite fun and of course it would be helpful for me as I could get some feedback on some of my plays which could ultimately make me a better player.

Would anyone be interested in watching that?

Here’s my problem – I’m a bit of a tech numpty! I wouldn’t have a clue when it comes to recording, editing and getting it out there. So I guess I’m asking if anyone knows of any easy to follow guides I could use to start down this path. I also would need to find a platform to upload it too as I can’t play without music and I know Youtube will mute or remove your video if you use copyrighted music although I have seen streamers like Tonka get away with playing music while they stream then his video’s remain untouched when he uploads it to Youtube, anyone know why this is?

I’m hoping in doing so it will also help me not to spunk off my bankroll playing slots and table games as is often the case. This month I played a few MTT’s on PP (around 10) and managed to reach the final table in 2 bounty tournaments and cashed in about 5 others before wasting it all playing Book of Dead (gah!) and also hit a royal flush in a micro stakes cash game against a donkey and got paid off which I was a bit gutted I didn’t capture (I got a screenshot but my laptop crashed and I forgot to save it!) so I feel I could probably build a bank roll if I stick to poker if I start this I would likely exclude myself from the PP casino to stop the temptation also.

Thoughts?

I’ve not really done any video production in the past, so I’m not the best person to advise on that front.

Sign up to twitch and go through the process of becoming a streamer. They have guidance built in on what you need to do for it to work. I tested the platform but got distracted by other things and lost interest. But it works and isn’t too daunting to set up.

Oh and sure, I’d tune in, as long as you’re not really chipmunk or roshtein in disguise.

Go for it mate. I’d watch it definitely. Just don’t ask me for tips though lol. I had a run last year in the prize money every tournament but now i must of gone at least 10 in a row including last night’s fiasco of getting beat on the river when miles in front as usual.

@Bio No worries mate, I’ll have to do some research when I have some free time. Already got my first fan, gosh! 😀

@Mr B I’m not really all that interested in streaming if I’m honest, I’d prefer to just make videos so I don’t have to bother with the distraction of having a live audience whilst trying to play…I honestly respect poker streamers as I can imagine how hard it must be to try play your A game whilst replying to the chat and all the shit that comes with viewers seeing their arse if you don’t reply to their questions and everything else that comes with streaming.

I’m aware of the misspelling, it was intentional, was trying to do my best sloth impression haha 😛

@Haz Tell me about it! That’s usually the case for me then tilting my bollocks off shoving with trash after getting 2 outed when my Aces get cracked haha. I’ll try to be more disciplined if I’m recording it though, don’t want to become known as the poker donk….eeeeee oorrr! 😀

Green, I don’t think you have to use the platform to stream, just to use the screen capture software and save the video. Silly advice from me anyway as I guess you just need screen/sound capture software. However they do list a few different tools you can get for free to do so that will also work with their platform.

So you will need screen/sound capture that will obviously capture whichever browser/software window or your whole screen (or part of it) and you will need to setup your sound for recording both the sounds from the software or browser and your mic if you want to talk along with it.

What will you be doing all this on ? ie Phone, iphone – android which operating system including version, windows 10 vista 3.1 pc or a mac using which operating system ? This will determine what software will work. I’m not great with shitty apple tech but you can find a plethora of youtube videos showing you how to setup and what to use.

I’ll check out twitch, if I can use it to just record and not have to stream then it would be ideal. 🙂 I’ll be using my laptop which is running windows 10. I’ll check out youtube for some tutorials, I tried this a few months back but the end result wasn’t great I’m a bit impatient and a lot of them wasn’t well explained. I’ve got next Sunday off so I’ll devote the day to finding a good solution and if I can get it working in time then I’ll try make a little video on the home game to use as a test.
