What more can the UKGC/MGA/SS Do?
You put layers in for deposits for credit checks, AML for withdrawals, KYC for both after certain amounts, RG teams who call you if your level increased by 40%, Source of wealth for over 5k, Payment teams who watch for fraud, DPA and GDPR for protection of data, Self exlcusion, limits for dpeosits, bets, loss, wins and time, and now restrictions on game speeds and bet sizing.
Give me a good idea and ill back it. But I cant think of much else thats needed. The MGA audit we had cost us a large sum as our loyalty checks didnt include total loss for the day. We implemented that pretty damn fast.
Ive been trying to think for ages, and aside from literally asking for bank statements for a year and allowing only that method for depositing…. what else is there? Interview? Affadavit?
00Sigh. Just…. ok.
CS staff that you speak to are people. They have a job to do. If someone is punching you in the face then sure, call them out. But if they are simply doing their job your attitude isnt helping them. Lets look at the day by day of a CS agent.
1 – they take live chats. They are able to take up to 8 at a time. Thats a lot of live chats. Go to Skype/Facebook now and try and talk to 8 people at once. Stressful huh?
2 – They have canned responses. See above. You need them with 8 chats at once.
3 – Most of what you ask of them they cant give you. You think that all CS agents are able to legally see your info? No. Thats senior level DPA stuff. They cant give you some of your bet info, they cant help you with every request.
4 – THEY HAVE NO ACCESS TO PAYMENTS. They cannot legally do this. They can simply forward it to a financial team. Thats it.
5 – They are paid a commission if you take a bonus from them. On certain occasions.
6 – The finance team that processes withdrawals, they have a job that you dont know about. The AML policies, bonus abuse, IP checks, fraud checks, all of it takes up to 30mins to check the amount can be paid. Now times that by however many people request withdrawals at one time. Thats why Videoslots takes anything from 30 seconds to 2 hours to pay out. This has nothing to do with pending policies, thats so youll cancel it. They can accept a withdrawal then cancel it after and return it to the balance no problem.
7 – Imagine your a chef and your company gives you produce. Your cooking. You serve it medium rare. It goes out medium rare. By the time the customer eats it as the plate is hot, its gone more medium. The customer complains by swearing at you. Fair? Not fair?
8 – You are a head chef at what kind of restaurant? Harvester? As to get to that level in a proper place you will have learnt to deal with stress and long hours. You wont vent at CS staff as you,ll have a level of respect. (this was a dig, ill apologise now, but the veracity of the OP is moronic/tilty for me. Thats the politest term i can use)
9 – There is talk on CS being corrupt. How? They are stealing your details? I dont follow this. Gaming CS are pissed off with being called corrupt maybe 24/7 while just doing their job? Id feel the same way if you came yelling at me on live chat for… i dont know what. Im guessing delayed withdrawals? Not the CS fault. Either yours for no verification, casinos for slow verification, or just bad luck.
10 – Its “holier than thou”. Just FYI.
11 – MOST IMPORTANT. Casinos do not always pay out slow on purpose. Some are simply busy. This isnt an automatic transaction. You need to approve each payment out for AML purposes. IF 100 payments come at once for 5 people, and it takes 12 minutes per one. Thats 5 per hour each. Imagine that on a sporting weekend on Bet365. How many cashouts/issues? Its not possible to have 100 staff working at once time as the company will go broke. Tesco has queues at busy times, so does casinos.
00There are hundreds of jobs here.
To talk to me dont share emails, just add me on linkedin. If you dont have just create one its free. My name is Phil Pearson. Only me in Malta.
00@awesomeX id love to hear that. As they are the biggest brand in Europe for casino. They are a huge company, they have about 3,000 staff here.
@MrB Im not calling you a liar. I didnt list 888 for a reason. Ive heard some questionable things in the past, but recently they have been getting good press for buying a rival firm and paying out their players on bets the other firm voided. I know of the retained access to accounts after banning, and what i know of this is it wasnt intentional. Doesnt forgive them for it, and the 8mil fine was deserved. But casino systems are damn hard to get right. Doesnt validate it but its nice to be nice where you can.00It’s a theme of people just not wanting to understand, it’s not a new thing unfortunately. Everything has to be a conspiracy if it doesn’t make sense to them. People are so afraid of being fooled that anything they can’t wrap their head around is a scam or bs, but that’s not how reality works. You can’t continue living in a bubble, educate yourselves and get legitimate answers instead of speculating without anything solid. When faced with solid, logical evidence as to why, put your insecurity aside and embrace the truth for what it is, it will help you long term and everyone around you.
It’s not to say you shouldn’t question things, you absolutely should, BUT don’t question things that make logical and rational sense, there are more than enough things that don’t, that you can use that energy for something constructive or good instead of wasting it on things you just don’t want to agree with because it doesn’t suit your image of how things should be or you can’t understand it’s a problem because you haven’t experienced it as a company that has a lot of responsibility
Best post ever.
And casumo asking for face ID isnt a scam. Someone said it earlier, when you deposit it cant be Money laundering. But when you withdraw it absolutely can
10There is evidence of chefs spitting in food, prostitutes having STDs, bankers with bonsues, plasteres doing shit work, website designed making a crap one, there is flaws in every world in every industry.
Problem is in Gaming people see 1 and assume its the same everywhere. It isnt. Otherwise i wouldnt gamble.
So which casinos do you recommend, and which casinos would you stay away from? And do you recommend staying away from any products they provide?
Videoslots, Casumo, bet365, Mr Green, Pokerstars, Grosvenor, Betvictor, CasinoHeroes, Betsson/Betsafe, Rizk/Guts of the top of my head are all perfect.
This list has hundreds of other i could add, most of which are ok.
As your in the UK, nearly all UKGC sites handle it all quite well. The issue comes when you venture further out to avoid gamban, or similar, and end up on unregulated sites or curacao sites by untrustable people.

00Training… 1-2 weeks. The systems are all pretty simple, and your functions are not a lot. On our system you can tell the player what to do, pass questions on to other teams, change passwords and apply certain bonuses or free spins. Thats it. Its a glorified peacekeeper role.
How comfortably can you live? Hmm.
Wages pre tax 25k. Take off tak and NI and you have say 19k. Your taking home 1.8-1.9k a month id say. There are bonuses and most places have free food and breakfasts and things.
Rent Shared – 400 euros.
Rent sole 1 bed – 800 euros (can find cheaper)
Rent 2 bed – 1k-1.5k monthly. Expensive!
Food – Maybe 20% more expensive than Tesco. There is a LIDL but no Aldi. So there isnt a super cheap option.
Dining out – 30% more than UK.
Drinking out – Same as spoon maybe?
Cigs – 50% cheaper.
Travel – Bus ticket is crazy cheaper.
TV – Sucks. There is a genius option called IPTV. ITs a box that takes Sky, American Cable, and all Eurpean channels on one box. Includes movies, premiers, sporting events, and even PPV. 15 euros a month. Epic
Overall – youll be poor at times but no difference from the UK.
00I was answering your question not providing evidence. I’m not saying that’s how it was done but as you agree, it’s possible. She could have been a member of many casinos already. I bet half of us on here have been or are signed up to more than 20 each.
Just because the info isn’t public, doesn’t mean it’s untrue. I’m sure with your connections, you can find out more though.
My connections cant disclose anything tha violates DPA. Data protection is huge at the moment. I know how things work, but i havent heard of this from anyone. Its something that would have been a story or at least spoken about in some form id have thought
00Cancelling withdrawals – Yup. 100% accurate on some cases. Some times its legit, but sometimes its casinos messing with you. For big licenced casinos its usually the former but it can feel like its on purpose.
How would you know that big casinos are usually the former ?
As i have had many conversations with them about why they do what they do. Videoslots for example processes within 30 minutes, Casumo has a lock policy. Big Multilicenced firms have a good record for withdrawal speed. Its the lower end ones that think youll cashout more.
You should find me on Linkedin Mr B, youll see i am very VERY outspoken in my industry about this topic. I hate it. Everyone should allow a lock feature. But some casinos are not forward thinking.
00ive been to malta twice once in march and also in january and i love it there. and ive been thinking about moving and working abroad and malta would be good. dont want to hijack your offer but what would the job be doing and where abouts in malta is it located
Hey, no problem, happy to help.
I know of many CS jobs here I can help with, not with my company but i have very good relationships with a lot of people on the island. So just let me know. You would have to interview, but being here and being british helps for english CS.
Starter jobs in gaming, depending on your background – Junior sales (25-30k), Junior Acc.Management (25k), CS (20-28k depending on hours company and language). Tech roles you need qualificaitons for, as with finance and legal.
Location – Most of gaming is within the major areas, Sliema and St Julians are the main sites, with Swieqi/Gzira/TaxBiex and Msida hosting the others. Valletta is too expensive (And beautiful) for many places to be there.
Hi eejit. My best friend as recently been made redundant from his casino job as a pit boss. He has worked as a dealer and an inspector aswell. He has started at the casino I work at as a dealer but feels like he has more to give but there is no progression in the casino. Could I maybe get your email so he could contact you regarding jobs in Malta? No worries if you don’t want too but I know he wants out of our casino so thought I would ask.
The problem here is that pit boss work is entirely based on training dealers, evaluating bets and watching for fraud. And being lazy 😀
None of that is part of a job in online gaming. What roles would he want to look at? I mean there are caisnos here but you need to speak Italian or Maltese also. Plus the wages in real life casinos here isnt awesome.
If he wants to work online in gaming its not the same field.
Happy to give my Linkedin profile, if i give my work email god knows what some of the haters will sign me up to 😀
