Okay, this is gonna be a bit of a yap session so apologise in advance.
Ive been using 888 for around 7-8 years give or take now, id say deposit wise i dont really deposit huge amounts but over the years id imagine its probably round the 10-15k mark. ive had good wins and bad losses but recently i had my account frozen when i tried to make a withdrawal, it was a small deposit (i believe it was 120£ but whatever not important) now i put in a old card so the withdrawl failed (no biggie cock up on my end) so after a few days i noticed while my withdrawal wasn’t successful the money didnt re enter my account so i can request the withdrawal again with my up to date card. i contacted live support everytime the scripts came out with the usual “its just processing atm it will be back into your account soon” “and sorry for the inconvienience please allow so many days etc etc.
I wake up one morning to find my account frozen so i cant log in, i try to ring a customer support, turns out 888 dont have a english telephone support (i did get a number i could ring and i got someone who at a wild guess im gonna assume was speaking arabic) safe to say i gave up on that, live chat i got “just security checks” i even had one advisor say “your withdrawl is being reprocess and should see your withdrawl in your account shortly”. we are talking 2 weeks later i get a email (i gave up with live chat they only had the same scripted answers and it didnt solve anything)
Email reads. We’d like to let you know that your recent withdrawal (2 weeks ago and a frozen account at this point) was declined.
No worries, we’ll reprocess your withdrawal via Wire instead. To do this, please send us your active bank details along with the following document/s to quickly and correctly process your funds:
1. A copy of your recent Bank Statement showing your bank details and issued within the last 6 months
2. A copy of your valid ID (please disregard if you have sent this previously)Now heres the thing that i find idk… predatory in practice. i dont go abroad i have no reason too. i live in a rural area all my work is local so i dont drive so licence i a no go, and as a UK citizen i dont need photo id (or at least ive never seen a time where i have needed anything past my birth certificate and NI number) so i contact them stating i can give them my birth certificate utility bills all that stuff i could (id rather not) but i could show my work card i use for clocking since it has my photo on it and do a side by side if it really has to come to that.
they didn’t want to know, stating we cant allow you to play on our casino without photo id. now i get the rules in that sense. HOWEVER like i said i had been gambling on 888 for over 7 years, spent thousands and thousands on deposits, and now due to a technicality they cant process a (what is in the big picture) a tiny withdrawl and instead would rather disable my account. if i coudnt prove who i was id get it but the fact i have my birth certificate my work (its a big recognisable company) card with my photo on it alongside me as well as utility bills and bank statements im just being shooed along.
They were perfectly happy for the past near decade to take my money and it wasnt a issue then. i dunno they claim “we take very seriously our part we have to play in responsible gambling and following government guidelines” and its just like “okay explain the last 7 years then why didnt you ask my for verification when i made my first deposit?
Okay im done talking shite. just a thought. ive resubmitted my documents but im not holding much hope.
