Closing this off… I’m stopping the channel
I’ve given this a proper go and it’s not working, so I’m calling it rather than dragging it out.
Quick recap of where it landed: a couple of months in, a handful of hour-long videos, almost no views, and basically no growth. The last upload was a long session that did next to nothing, That’s not still in the “early days.” That’s the format failing.
The honest version… the videos were just boring. I can see that now. Long stretches of dead spins, no payoff, me sitting there waiting for something to happen. If I wouldn’t watch it myself, I can’t expect anyone else to.
The main reason is the way I play. I spin naturally. No bonus buys. In hindsight that was a bad fit for YouTube. Natural play is mostly dead air. Fine if you’re actually playing yourself, but useless if you’re trying to make something people will click. Most of those hour-long videos had no real content in them, no moment you’d clip to shorts, no hook, nothing happening for 20 minutes at a time.
I also held back from really pushing the channel. The plan was to wait until I had a decent hit on camera… something like a first 1000x… and then start sharing it properly. That hit never came… not even close. I filmed for nearly 10 hours and I can count on one hand how many wins were over 100x. So I never felt like I had anything worth sending people to, and the channel just sat there quietly dying.
I’m not sure if my expectations were too high, or if I just got lucky in my personal sessions before I started filming. Off camera I was running well. On camera it was flat. Maybe that’s variance. Maybe I only noticed the good sessions when it was my own money and no upload button. Either way, I don’t have 10 more hours in me hoping the next spin is the one that makes the channel make sense.
I don’t want to start bonus buying just to manufacture clips, and I’m not going to keep depositing for content and hoping the next session is more interesting. I’m happy to call this an experiment that ultimately failed and halt the channel where it is.
