Hey pal, i suffer(ed) really bad with gout, and trust me , the last thing you wanna do is take Alipurinol when you are having an attack of it, they multiply it massively, they are only for prevention when you are gout free,I haven’t had an attack for ages, take em daily, religiously ,if u get gout whilst using allopurinol, you probably need an higher dosage buddy. Get on Chelsea’s highest scoring half , The Second. tomorrow, 21/10
024th February 2026 at 2:16 pm #153078I suffered with Gout for years!! Tried the all the tablets nothing worked!! Doctor blames the drinking!!
I stopped eating red meat! Can still drink double digits everyday now without any medication.
For me personally if I went out tonight and had a lovely Fillet Steak Rossini, within a couple of days I’d be bed bound! 😂Stay off the Red Meat, Kebabs, Pate etc.
Works for me mate. 👍🏻
015th February 2026 at 7:00 pm #153100I suffer with it, occasionally thank god. always have a box of naproxen 500 handy, when i have a bad one which i had monday(first in a long while) took them for a day and it vanished.
015th February 2026 at 7:20 pm #153080I used to suffer bad gout until I found out what was causing mine which was salt…I was eating crips like 6 bags of frazzles, salt on my buttys, on my meals in fact salt on everything.
How did I find out well every time I went in hospital I would get gout even for my hernia operation which when going in I didn’t have it and had not eaten for 2 day, I mention this and the only thing I had had was Saline on drip and the main ingredient was salt.
That was 2 years ago since then I cut back on salt stopped eating crisps and don’t have any on buttys and touch would I have been gout free.
I used to get in in my feet, elbows and knee and was one of the worst if not the worst pains I had…just thought iid let you know what caused mine.
0011th February 2026 at 7:33 pm #153195Had Gout for a few years, (Uric Acid off the charts) I don’t take the Alupurinol instead daily I take Tumeric with Black Pepper and Cherry Tart supplements every morning.
Fresh Lemon squeezed into Water everyday and plenty of it definitely helps.
Alcohol and and Red Meat are my Triggers, especially Guinness,Whiskey and Rum.
Alcohol I’ve found that irritates but doesn’t seem to fully trigger if drinking once a week is Bud Lite and Coors
0012th February 2026 at 12:08 pm #153208I think you are basically me in another form. We literally have everything in common, including the gout lol!! Do not take Alopurinol whilst having an attack though. Naproxen is the only thing that will ease it. I nearly topped myself a few years ago due to the pain of it. Ended up going to A&E a few times as it was so unbearable and nothing was working. Anyway, other common interests include:
– The footy and and footy betting (I’m a Grimsby fan by the way so sorry about knocking you’re lot out of the League cup!!)
– Golf – not so good these days but still love the game
– Darts
– Beer (can comfortably down 12-15 pints on a Saturday before, during and after the footy)
– And slots of course. Been obsessed with em from an early age (live near Cleethorpes so basically grew up in the arcades playing all the classic JPM and Barcrest machines etc).
Basically, just take me to Vegas and we’ll have a right laugh lol!!
