Hi Everyone,
I’m a UK punter heading to Las Vegas in a few months and staying at Paris Las Vegas. I want to take roughly £20,000 GBP with me purely for gambling and general spending while I’m there.
Obviously walking through airports with that much cash sounds like a nightmare (declarations, risk of theft, etc.), so I’ve been looking into the “money behind the cage” option I keep reading about. From what I understand, you can wire the funds directly to the casino cage and they hold it for you under your Caesars Rewards account.
A few quick questions for anyone who’s done this (especially other Brits):Is wiring to the Paris cage straightforward as a UK citizen?
Do you use your normal bank or something like Wise/TransferWise for better rates and lower fees?
Any recent experiences with the exact process, timing, or gotchas?
How easy is it to get the money out once you’re there (chips, slot play, etc.) and what happens to any unused balance at the end of the trip?
Any tips on contacting the cage in advance or anything else I should know?I have a Caesars Rewards card already sorted from my last visit. Any real world stories or advice would be massively appreciated, I don’t want to mess anything up!
On a separate note, I’m already in the process of applying for an ITIN number as a non resident alien to use the UK-US tax treaty rules when it comes to no taxes on gambling winnings which should stop all the forms required when you hit a decent win.
Thank you,
0016th June 2026 at 7:42 pm #154747The biggest thing is whatever casino you wire you’re sort of forced to play there, because you won’t be able to get much cash for your chips (only up to 10% of wire amount) and they also will not allow you to swap chips from their property to those of another property. Also if you win on the trip you have to take that first 20k back as a wire back to your back, they don’t give you an option for it due to AML laws. As for your profit I believe that will pay that however you ask them. I’m not an international player so I can’t give as many answers as I’d like but I lived in Vegas for 5 years and did my fair share of gambling there then. Feel free to dm me or reply here for any other questions you might have.
