I’m so sorry to hear this mate, I’m going through a very similar thing with my old man at the moment they discovered a 15cm tumour on his kidney last week. I’ve never wanted to gamble more and just escape, I’ve been trying to focus on other shit and keep my mind busy although drinking has helped. I’ve also taken all my money out in cash so it’s not such a temptation I’d recommend the same mate, it’s one of those times when you just have to press on and look for any silver linings and try to keep a smile on got your dad,

When I win a few hundred off a tenner and buy something for my bedsit or something then pump the rest back in I justify in my head that it was only a tenner to begin with and I’ve got some new shit which is cool.. On a much larger scale I suppose your on the same wave length, although when I explain that to anyone who isn’t a gambler they say “spoken like a true gambler” lol and I dont think they’re wrong tbh
