Xmas in 2008/2009 I was living at a mates at the time they had gone to their families for xmas and after having worked a fudge load up to xmas I had £2.5k pay in my bank which was a lot of hours as I was on a rubbish hourly paid two jobs. It was me with the laptop a couple of bottles of JD and Cava while the my mates pet dog was watching the action of me degening on will hill. I was very into BJ at the time started off with a £20 deposit soon ended up with £200 deposits. after £800 of deposits I managed to get to a balance of about 2.6k playing BJ and a little roullete(like £30 spins). I thought I chill out and play a slot never was much of one for slots back then. In those days some sites offered how much of your balance you who like to take to the table or slot, so not thinking straight ,due to the Jack Daniels etc, I didn’t realise I was sat down at the slot with my whole balance and more importantly I didn’t notice the stake selection size was automatically adjusted to that balance so It was at £200 a spin, thinking I was on £2 a spin I happily clicked I glanced at my balance seeing it drop by £200 and shouted,  “oh f*ck!” and boom 1st press express “ping, ping, ping” the bonus landed three sea shells landed on the screen. Can’t remember the name of the slot was something like atlantis or something. buzzing I frt wow this is gonna be at least £4k- the top prize being £250,000. a screen of under the sea items were on screen I picked one and it opened to to a win of £200. urrrgh don’t know whether to have been happy to get my money back from an accidental click or count the carrots haha

Four years is amazing achievement, that you should be greatly  proud of. I understand the struggle, and like others have said don’t let the demons get the best of you. I know its hard and the margins of all or nothing is a fine line. Whether you know it or not at the moment, something is better than nothing. I think ppl who like to gamble are able to endure great strain in life from previous experiences and sometimes that makes ppl feel more is achieveable but they don’t necassarily have a true balanced look at life when under pressure. Don’t misunderstand me, I do believe ppl can be more focused and achieve things they may not have been able to otherwise if they weren’t under pressure, but all that said, seeking out alternative ways to relax and problem solve any issues are definately a better choice than to gamble. I greatly understand the struggle as many times I have been faced with having to dig deep within myself to to find physical and emotional energy to not only hold back the urge to gamble but to find ways to solve problems and not use gambling as an escapsism, and still function in every day life and look after others. I’m glad you wrote your post as I believe this forum is a great place to speak out and seems to be a great community of helpful advice and support. you never know a few words could save a life. As far as financial help, have you looked into local county council support services and benefits(check online , speak to CAB and also to your G.P. and ask any Occupational Therapists/Phyiso Therapists  you may know, there are also many leafelts/pamphlets in your local hospitals full of info for funding you may be unaware of. also look into taxable allowances and carer allowances. Crowd funding or charity’s that offer raising or support is also worth a look. I have a network that can find out relevant info if you need any advice. 🙂 hope things get better for you much love x

feel for you dude I’ve been there in the past more than enough times. My gambling started as young as 7 years old from playing games with the grandparents such cards some of which weren’t even traditional gambling games but we’d bet on it anyway, I think they saw it as a bit of fun and tried to teach me a lesson not to gamble but I loved playing. I progressed to fruit machines and upon joining high-school went to the local seaside amusements and although I wasn’t quite hooked, was too embarrassed to tell my parents I lost my pocket money so would lie, then by the next week/month I’d  have either forgotten the previous or shrugged it off and repeated my mistake. I soon found myself playing fruit machines all over the place and even though I used to eventually lose through greed (there were actually machines you could win on then) it didn’t affect my life to badly. I started going casino and losing larger amounts in shorter spaces of time , so I stopped going that worked well. I took out a loan for a holiday that I hadn’t fully paid for and gambled all £1500 of the loan away, in a dodgy arcade, then got a credit card so I could still go on holiday with my mates they offered me a limit of £10,000 I never wanted a credit card and always felt good I didn’t get one straight away at 18. I was 21 when I took it out with £2000 limit. I didn’t bother to pay it off instead I would carry on gambling while working two jobs about 60-80hrs a week and studying. I drained my savings account for £5,000 I took out overdrafts for all four of my banks and maxed them and back then if you left a penny in the account could go OD by £99.99. I also did credit card shuffle and maxed 5 credit card balances, I could of paid these off many times over but didn’t. people around me didn’t know I was 21 /23 and eventually asked for help from family they said it was my problem and they themselves didn’t really know what financially i could do at the time. by this point I owed about £14,000. I earn’t about varying amount of £500 to £2000 a month. I faced the problem head on and spoke to my banks and citizens advice and signed up with a debt management company and used all my wages to pay debt keeping only £20 a week for myself. The roulette FOBTS had been around for a few years but intially didn’t interest me I hated the idea of bookies, playing odds put in place by them and the smokey atmosphere (even though I smoke) and piss smelling people in there down on their luck, but one day I was meeting a friend for a game of pool and he said he was in the bookies, not wanting to go in i waited in the snooker hall for him for three hours eventually I went to get him I had to wait another 3hrs while he gambled I said I was going and he said just have a go on the machine like me, I couldn’t convince him to leave and explained that this was all my money for a week and we were ment to play pool so after its gone I ‘m going home. I put £10 in won £700 then lost the lot. put my last tenner in won £1500 then left. I had recently broke up from my then girlfriend(love of my life) and was emotionally very fragile. I won about £10,000 in three weeks and £39,000 over about 2/3 months by xmas I was broke and still in debt by about £5000. I became hooked on FOBTS thinking I could repeat my wins like before and I did quite a few times, but eventually gambling has taken me for about £500,000 and I’d a lot of this was taken by banks charges(which I managed to get some of back ) but it wasn’t worth what it was when I spent it. Iyou name it I’ve done it all kinds of gambling, G.A. ,psychiatrists , CBT. I hope things get better for you and if you ever feel anxious and want to gamble speak to someone about it. and one of the best bits of advice is to put barriers between you gambling and your money. I truly believe things will work out for you.

Aye aye xams pie fatty fatty santa,

feed him cakes, watch him grow

how big he gets no one knows.

    One square I don’t care

two by two, I don’t need

three by three, I feel the greed

    four by four prizes galore

five by five is the dream, but like most people, I’ve never seen.

santa and pies on every spin and watch my frown turn into a grin

santa on reel one is where you want to begin,

One more pie is all I need (“Do it!”) and then it be a right old riot,

but Fudging santa must be on a f*cking diet.

If you lose don’t get mad or feel bad cos with this slot you can say “F*ck, I’ll just buy it”

    🙂

I’ve been spending the day looking at my email cookies and how my personal data is shared by companies due to cookies and browsing history etc (GPD or whatever its called). This led me to taking a closer look at casino’s cookies and what they share of my data and from using their sites. I don’t usually have time to scutinise these things because like other ppl who has time in a day to read all the endless gobbedly gook. but it was a real eye opener. I highly recommend that every1 does this, who knows how this affects things.

Maybe you could do a count down of the 25 days of xmas like an advent calender that children have but instead of chocolates inside each door their are other prizes getting better the closer towards xmas it gets. incorporating somekind of teams like in the rabbit world cup you did.
