[Avernite WANTED $23 Outlaw]

Hey as some of you may remember i make the odd topic about my quest to give up online gambling. Being in New Zealand i cannot use Gamstop and Gamban (on my computer) doesn’t work properly with my phone (loophole that i can’t figure out how to close).

Got paid last night, thought I’d pop a cheeky 20 in and as usual by the time i stop in the early hours of the morning got 40 to last me til next week (self excluded from there again, like the 100s of others). On the plus side my main debt will be just over 3000 down from 6000 (debt acquired in March) this week. On the downside the old cat got into another fight requiring yet another 500 in treatment ?

Cheers for reading this. Feels good getting this off my chest and the support you guys show here really helps in resuming the old slugfest of beating this horrible addiction.

I’m sorry you had to go through this again 🙁 what I would suggest doing (not while you have money around you) is to google all sites that you can play on, and email them one by one and ask them to exclude you. If you don’t have the time, I can help you write a list, so you can send the email with multiple recipients. I think it would be best before your next payday hits and this happens again. Hope you feel better today, this happens to us all, so don’t ever feel like you’re alone 🙂

I don’t know if it’s an action for you but banks in the UK also allow them to restrict transactions that come under ‘Gambling’. The bank will block any that come under that transaction type. Maybe worth venturing into for you?

 

If anybody in the UK wants to use this, the bank is Barclays that offers this(others may also).

Halifax offer a Visa electron too, which is a card without a security code on the back.. no online buying.

I feel the pain man, gamban doesn’t work here either and sure with gamstop you can just uninstall it. I found the best way to stop it though, bandit said it a while ago and it’s a brilliant idea. Order a new bank card and get someone you trust and that knows about your struggle to scratch off the cvv number on the back. The drawback is you’ll only really be able to use it for cash but you’ll stop yourself from doing them stupid nights I used to do myself. Hope this helps you like it helped me.

Thanks guys, I’ve already enquired about this with several banks and sadly it’s a no go. On the bright side the Government is looking at banning gambling transactions on credit cards soon so I’ll be ditching the debit card in favour of that when it is released.

I’ll probably have to just exclude the newer released ones as they come out. I’ve already had two complaints rejected by the MGA ( currently awaiting results of a third) from casino groups allowing me to open with sister sites despite me requesting self exclusion with all brands. It’s pretty dodgy tbh and I honestly wish license providers had the option to blacklist yourself from all licensees.

UPDATE: I had a horrible relapse. Just maxed out a credit card reversing all of my hard work. Feel so sick to the stomach i had to take today off work, I’m going to see the bank and try and negotiate a way to repay them.

Just to let you know avernite, I’ve wrote a list of the ones I’ve managed to find, but there will obviously be some ive missed. Theres 4 pages full of license holders.

Whilst emailing them, I would ask to be excluded from their sister sites, and also sites they may be related to. You know how mr green run off one license but winningroom and redbet whatever it is run off another, well you can’t be a member of w/r or r/b if you excluded from mr green. I dont understand how it works but it could help with any casinos I may have missed if they are linked with them in any way.

A good way is to request a new card and scratch the the three digits of the back ….. I heard somebody do that on this site which is smart……ok shipping on line would be an arse but so is being skint , and there’s nothing online you can’t get in the high street … good luck mate ….
