    Hi guys

I’m going Vegas for 5 days in November. I have everything sorted flights etc just can’t decide on where to stay.

Do I stay on the strip or off it?

    Casino hotel?

Any tips or advice would be welcome.

I will be doing fair bit of betting, casino, sportsbook but also want go decent places to eat and drink.

    Thanks in advance.

Excellent! You will have an amazing time. My advice would be to stay on the strip.

You could try contacting an MGM casino host to ask if they would give you a complimentary room for a night or two. This is a good way to get your foot in the door and if you end up playing at any of their resorts whilst there you will get discount from your room and food knocked out your bill.

Always use the players cards, as they calculate what you’re spending. I tend to just stick to MGM as they Have like 8 casinos or something on the strip.

If if you look on YouTube there’s some decent review blogs.

Have a a great time mate.

    Rob 🙂

Defo stay on strip,Stayed at aria in nov 2018 brilliant hotel but casino not as good as some on strip if you stay off strip it will be cheaper but by the time you spend money getting to strip it works out even more.

Have a look on youtube for some good vlogs, one of my personal favs is a guy called matt bridger few tips from myself are get ubers/lyfts not taxis loads cheaper.

If looking for nice restaurant Hells kitchen(not cheap but really nice food)approx. $125 for 2 course with drinks.

Never pay full price for drinks in casinos play a few slots and get waitresses to bring round of drinks just tip about $1 or $2 per drink.

But most of all have a great time and good luck.

Exactly as above. Use your player card, and importantly make sure it’s valid in all the casinos. We were with MGM (stayed at the Luxor) but didn’t earn points using the card at the Bellagio which was weird.

Stayed for five days and after one pretty big slot machine win (the 5 seater community Wheel of Fortune slot) we played with profit pretty much the whole time. The last day was free food and free drink with the points we had accumulated.

Just a thought, I have no idea what new hotel resorts (if any) have sprung up this year but it’s worth contacting and seeing if you can have a discounted rate in return for an “honest review” on their website. When we left last time the Luxor offered us 75% off a return the following year at a new MGM property, that was in 2015 and sadly we had to decline – having kids meant we’ve still not been back yet.

Just go and wing it. You can listen to advice and watch the Vlogs on YouTube, but you’ll never fit in everything you want to do so just relax and go with the flow, you can make your own “to do” list for next time. 😉

    Depends on your budget.

Excalibur is the cheapest of the hotel resorts and gives the biggest rooms for the price. Still a very nice place and has a great Casino.

MGM Grand is also reasonably priced. It’s a little dated now, but still a great resort hotel and has, probably, the best Casino (in my opinion).

Aria and Cosmopolitan are stunning hotels but expensive.

The Bellagio is amazing. My personal fav. Great hotel and great Casino. Pretty expensive again.

Caesars Palace is immense but the Casino is terrible.

Venetian is beautiful but on the expensive side again.

They are all the ones I know fairly well. Whatever you choose, sign up to their rewards scheme (MLife for all of the MGM resorts) and book through that. Will give you immediate preferential rates and if you call them, you might get some freebies.

Just back from trip number 10 to vegas.

    defo stay on the strip.

Cheapness and location then excalibur ticks all boxes, clean rooms and in my opinion best bar guys on the strip in terms of getting drinks when gambling. A lot of strip casinos now use a light or ticket system if playing at the bar where you have to waves x amount to get a free drink, excalibur doesn’t have this so just tip a couple bucks each drink and they keep them coming without even asking for a new one.

also excalibur lets you waive the credit card hold at check in if you decline room charging privileges.

Worth checking out Ellis Island, a local casino a block of the strip. It has a brewery inside so amazing beer for 2.25 a pint, plus $9.99 for an amazing steak.

Bar/club crawls worth doing, can get tickets on the strip for like $60 and great night out.

any questions just give me a shout.
