It wouldn’t matter if he lost the 1.4million since it then becomes casumo’s money and thus can’t be money laundering or anything untoward.

It’s a different story when they 1.4million needs to be paid back since they have to check everything was legitimate and wasn’t used for laundering any money etc.

A selfie is also needed to make sure the original documents you sent in are real, it’s pretty easy to fake a passport photo but a lot harder if you have to take a photo with you holding the passport.

Long story short – it’s their job legally to make sure they aren’t breaking any laws or facilitating any crimes especially when they were fined something like £20m last time UKGC were involved.

It gets worse,i have had this before..you send them the selfie and then come back with its not clear enough or we cant read this or that,it is BS happened to me when a withdrawal was pending and felt no other way to get MY money unless i just did what they asked,but it totally takes the piss.

The whole thing is a farce, but I suppose they are only trying to cover their own backs. If they have implemented this in any way, it shouldn’t be one rule for one and another for the rest.

Maybe an idea to ask if they have any more KYC / Identification methods in place. Do them all, that way you should never have any trouble with this again.

I would request a Subject Access Request from Casumo. They must provide this information to you promptly and must contain all the information they hold about you.

This stinks of corruption on their part. They know who you are as you have proved your identity to them in the past.

Upon getting the SAR, I would report any discrepencies to the UKGC and liase and cooperate with them directly.

It’s a theme of people just not wanting to understand, it’s not a new thing unfortunately. Everything has to be a conspiracy if it doesn’t make sense to them. People are so afraid of being fooled that anything they can’t wrap their head around is a scam or bs, but that’s not how reality works.You can’t continue living in a bubble, educate yourselves and get legitimate answers instead of speculating without anything solid. When faced with solid, logical evidence as to why, put your insecurity aside and embrace the truth for what it is, it will help you long term and everyone around you.

It’s not to say you shouldn’t question things, you absolutely should, BUT don’t question things that make logical and rational sense, there are more than enough things that don’t, that you can use that energy for something constructive or good instead of wasting it on things you just don’t want to agree with because it doesn’t suit your image of how things should be or you can’t understand it’s a problem because you haven’t experienced it as a company that has a lot of responsibility

And casumo asking for face ID isnt a scam. Someone said it earlier, when you deposit it cant be Money laundering. But when you withdraw it absolutely can

Waht i dont understand is,after initial I.D check you beleive obviously that the person is who they say they are?,then comes a time where said person has gambled loads so you HAVE to do source of wealth check,ok thats all fine i guess,a ballache but neccesary.

So the stage we are at now is you know who we are as you approved I.D we sent,you know we are legit as you approved source of wealth information….So why they do you suddenly need Photo of ppl holding whatever it is if you have already approved these things and said you beleived who they were from previous verifications?

totally agree jamezwww it happend to me a few months back with rizk i made a 100 pound deposit and went to play the slots but it wouldn’t let me keep saying speak to customer service or something to that nature thats when the said they want all my docs re sending and proof of earnings i   said get fucked  close my account and refund my deposit within seconds he came back and said sorry for the request ive just checked your account and your good to go play if i made the depo and requested a withdrawal it would of been very different

But actualy thats wrong, whether the money is paid out or not by uk law it’s still money laundering the moment the casino takes any money resulting from crime.

 

However the only two offenses the casino can resonably commit ( not going to get in to benefiting from the proceeds of crime, thats tricky) is not reporting suspicious activity and destroying evidence.

So selfie ids have no relivance here.

 

Under age gambling, ok fine excuse, EXCEPT the criminal offense is commited at the point of allowing the deposit and the access to the gaming machines…… NOT at the point of withdrawal.

 

This is a stupid excuse, if you do indeed catch anyone this way whats to stop the 13 year old kid reporting the offense you have ALREADY committed ? theres no legal defence in saying ” yeah but we didn’t pay out any winnings to the child it’s all ok”

I’m not going to comment on whether they are tactics designed to put people off withdrawing ( altho given the track record of casinos over the years that doesn’t seem quite tin-foil hat worthy yet) or it’s just stupid middle management coming up with hair brained schemes to look like the do something for a living and care…. i’d go 50/50.
